Thoughts of Walt Disney World conjure up images of families, childhood, and Mickey Mouse, and while this is accurate, it’s not the only way to enjoy Disney. Walt Disney World may aim its marketing at families with young children, but it’s a great place for adults and kids at heart, and you will find it is a popular vacation spot for couples all year long.
Foodies Rejoice
Disney may be designed to attract kids, but they didn’t forget about the adult experience. Food lovers will love the large variety of dining options the parks have to offer. Epcot has a selection of treats from around the world, each authentic to its home country. Indulge yourself at the fine dining of Victoria & Albert’s, located within Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and a winner of the AAA Five Diamond Award.
Epcot also showcases wine, beer, and cocktails from countries around the world to accompany the authentic cuisine. They even host the International Food and Wine Festival several months out of the year. Epcot also hosts food and wine pairings for adults from the Mediterranean, Japan, Morocco, and Italy.
Enjoy the Nightlife at Disney
Days at Disney can feel chaotic, hot, and sometimes a bit stressful due to never-ending lines and busy families. Luckily, once the kids tire themselves out, the park remains open for you to roam freely. Spend your mornings with breakfast in bed, on the golf course, or relaxing at the spa, but make sure you leave your evenings open to enjoy the peaceful side of Disney or a romantic night out.
Nightlife and Disney are not typically paired together, but they should be. When the kids go to bed, the party is just beginning. The Disney BoardWalk is a great place to start the night, with dueling pianos at Jellyrolls and the Atlantic Dance Hall playing your favorites from the 80s and 90s. The BoardWalk is also a great spot to catch the nightly fireworks and enjoy a fine bottle of wine together.
Spa Getaway
If you’re able to send the kids off to enjoy pool time with other family members, be sure to treat yourself to a relaxing morning or day all to yourself. Many of the resorts and hotels at Disney have premium spa packages available for guests.
Be a Kid Again
Sure, being an adult is great, but don’t forget to let the out your inner kid from time to time. After all, you came all this way for family fun, so get out there and play with the kids. A character breakfast is one of the best ways to bring out the kid in all of us and start the day off right.
Not Just for Kids
Walt Disney World truly has something for everyone. When planning an adults-only trip, be sure to research the adult options on their site and find the attractions that interest you most. There are excellent resources explaining how to make the most of your adults-only trip to Disney. Head to Disney without the kids and have some fun.
