The TSA just announced it’s expanding the trusted traveler program to 28 more airports this year. Unless you were lucky enough to live near a trial airport-Atlanta, Dallas, Detroit, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami and Minneapolis- you will now get another shot at getting through security faster.
After more than 300,000 passengers were screened in the trial program you can now look for it at the following airports. It is unclear which airlines are taking part but either way this is great news for frequent flyers. Here are the 28 airports being added:
Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI)
- Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)
- Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT)
- Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG)
- Denver International Airport (DEN)
- Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL)
- George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)
- Honolulu International Airport (HNL)
- Indianapolis International Airport (IND)
- John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
- LaGuardia Airport (LGA)
- Lambert-St. Louis International Airport (STL)
- Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY)
- Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU)
- Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)
- O’Hare International Airport (ORD)
- Orlando International Airport (MCO)
- Philadelphia International Airport (PHL)
- Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX)
- Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT)
- Portland International Airport (PDX)
- Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)
- Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC)
- San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
- Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA)
- Tampa International Airport (TPA)
- Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC)
- Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)
All Trusted Travelers will be able to participate in the program if they are enrolled in Global Entry, SENTRI and NEXUS (US citizens only). If interested in signing-up get started at GlobalEntry.gov.
The best part about this screening process at the airport is it means no removing your belt, jacket, shoes, and leaving your laptop and toiletries in your bags. This means a better and faster airport experience.
