Plan the Ultimate Trip to Orlando

written by Clint Johnston
Plan the Ultimate Trip to Orlando

Orlando is well-known for being home to some of the countries best theme parks. These include Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando Resort, and many smaller parks in the Central Florida region. In 2013 Orlando accommodated more tourists, 51 million, than any other U.S. city. This means there are a lot of affordable hotels and a lot of flight options into Orlando.

Save in the Off-Season

While there is no true off-season in Orlando there are off-peak seasons. The fall is one of the best times to visit since school is back in session and families can’t get away as easily during this period. Plan your trips before or after major holidays such as long weekends and spring break to save as well. Keeping your travel schedules flexible will come along with big savings for your trip.

Hotels vs Vacation Rentals

There are many amazing hotels in Orlando right next to the action but these are accompanied by high price tags and expensive onsite amenities. However, it will completely eliminate the need for a car since there are trams to take you throughout the parks and shuttles to and from various attractions.

Vacation Rentals might require a car rental, which is an added expense. However, they are often cheaper, larger, and more accommodating for longer stays and bigger families. The money spent on a car rental will be saved on cooking dinner at home and renting a lot more space for your money. There will be no need for multiple hotel room bookings at a vacation rental and the whole family can spend time together.

Day Trips from Orlando

Within a short drive there attractions anyone can enjoy in Central Florida. These include the Kennedy Space Center, Gatorland, and airboat rides in the Everglades. If you need to beat the heat head to Wet-n-Wild to cool off for the afternoon. The Orlando area is also home to numerous museums, national parks, and even wineries.

Flexibility is Key

Just like any trip flexibility is the number one factor to saving money. Flying on weekdays vs weekends and traveling when kids are back in school will keep the budget down. Flying into nearby airports is another great way to find cheap flights. No matter what your budget Orlando can be done your way. Do your research and start planning your trip to sunny Orlando, FL.
