Gear Review: The Bellroy Travel Wallet

written by Clint Johnston
Gear Review: The Bellroy Travel Wallet

Every traveler knows securely carrying multiple currencies, credit cards, boarding passes, and a passport in a safe and secure manner is critical. However, this comes at the cost of wearing or stashing a bulky travel wallet somewhere on your body or in your bag. For many it means putting your passport in one place, boarding pass in another, and stashing currency in all sorts of places.

I am not a fan of those ugly pouches that go around your neck. If anything they make you a target because they are clearly visible through your shirt. In the past I have always used a passport holder and my front pockets to secure things. This has done the job to date but it is hardly organized.

This is where the Bellroy excels. It is both slim and a wonderful organizer for travelers. It easily holds everything I need for a journey anywhere my travels may take me. It fits easily into your back pocket or front if that is what you prefer.

Inside my Bellroy Wallet

The Bellroy was designed with a traveler in mind. It features an easy access passport slot on the inside along with two go-to credit card slots. Behind that are two slightly less accessible slots. That can be used for backup credit cards, memory cards, or anything slim you might need on the road.

Take a look at this side-by-side between my old method and the Bellroy way.

Side my side of my old method and the Bellroy

One my favorite touches is the micro pen that fits right insides the fold of the Bellroy wallet. It is perfect for filling out customs forms and landing cards on the plane. I can’t tell you how many times I have forgotten my pen but with the Bellroy wallet you will always have one handy.
