How to Plan a Trip to Niagara Falls

written by triphackr
How to Plan a Trip to Niagara Falls

I enjoy travel and over the years, I have found my way to some fantastic places. Yet there are still a few places still on my bucket list, and one of the biggest is the Niagara Falls.  This is a sight that I want to see, somewhere that fires my imagination. I have been fascinated with the falls since I was a boy reading about Annie Taylor going over the Niagara Falls in a barrel.

Naturally, I want to see the falls themselves and when I go, I plan to start by going up the observation tower and stepping out on the platform above the falls, which was built in 2001.

Also on my list is a boat trip with Hornblower Tours of Niagara that leaves from the base of Clifton Hill. Aboard this boat, you are so close to the base of the falls that you get soaked if you do not wear the provided waterproofs. It is a great way to get close to the falls and experience the power and majesty of all that cascading water.

Go behind the Niagara Falls

Next on my must do list is the Journey Behind the Falls tour. You take the elevator down to the base of the falls and follow the tunnels out onto one of the two observation decks. Both decks take you within touching distance of the falls.

The Niagara Falls History Museum

As I said earlier one of the reasons the falls are on my bucket list is the stories I read about Annie Taylor and other daredevils going over the falls. It fascinated me and it still does, so a visit to the Falls Museum is a must for me to learn more. Sadly, the Daredevils of Niagara Falls Museum has now closed, so I have missed out there.

Niagra Falls Trip Planning

A hotel with a view

Normally, I do not spend a lot on hotel rooms, but when I visit the falls I am going to make an exception and get myself a room with a view. If you want a view of the falls from your hotel room you just need to visit Niagara Falls Marriott to book a hotel in Niagara Falls.

The rooms in this hotel have views of the falls and the higher you go the better the view is. In some of the rooms, there are bathrooms with a view of the falls, so you can relax in a bath looking out over one of the natural wonders of the world.

Every night the falls are illuminated, so even at night the view is impressive. During the summer, there is also a firework show to enjoy.

Visit the IMAX

The IMAX cinema is also on my to do list. On TripAdvisor, this attraction regularly appears in the top ten. Apparently, it is an experience not to be missed.

My plan is to get together the travel documents to allow me to visit both the Canadian and American sides of the falls. Naturally, when I do get around to visiting the falls I will be telling you all about it.
