The Papagayo Peninsula of Costa Rica is an outdoor lovers paradise. It is home to the newly renovated Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo. Following a USD 35 million investment into the Papagayo property it now defines Pura Vida and has luxury eco-tourists in mind by creating a beautiful eco-luxury resort. It is also the only Five-Star luxury resort in Central and South America according to Forbes. This is my review of the Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo.
Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica Review
Located in the northwest corner of Guanacaste, the Papagayo Peninsula is home not only home to this world-class resort, but also amazing homes, and some of the most incredible coastal landscapes you’ll find anywhere in the world. If you love the outdoors, adventures, and getting out on the water then the Papagayo Peninsula should be on your must-visit list.

Overview of the Papagayo Property
The first thing you will notice about this resort is it there is water everywhere. From the four beautiful pools to the Pacific Ocean, the resort sits on 1,400 acres. There are 182 guest rooms, suites and villas to fit your needs and four dining options to choose from. My favorite feature is the location of the property on the Papagayo Peninsula. It sits perfectly between the bay and the Pacific.
Health and Wellness
The Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica takes Pura Vida to heart. They want you to depart feeling refreshed, healthy, and happy. This is why health and wellness can be experienced and felt throughout the property. Yoga, fitness, nutrition, and volunteering are just a few of the key areas Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica focuses on. And if your idea of health and wellness is relaxing by the pool there are four to choose from.
Adventures and Activities on Papagayo Peninsula
Relaxing on the beach and next to the pool are a great way to spend the afternoon but if you want to plan a day of adventure the Papagayo Explorers Club has you covered. They will tailor your day or you can choose from countless activities including mountain biking, ATVs, outrigger canoeing, chasing dolphins, freediving and cultural experiences. There is so much to do on Papagayo and I didn’t have time to experience it all on one trip but I highly recommend going for hike and getting out on the water.
Overall Impressions of Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica
The Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo is a beautiful property in Costa Rica and one I would love to return to. It offers the perfect combination of eco-luxury, relaxation, and adventure. There is so much to see and do on the Papagayo Peninusula I will definitely need to head back to experience the rest.
