A Visit To Niagara Falls: How To Knock This Wonder Off Your Bucket List

A Visit To Niagara Falls: How To Knock This Wonder Off Your Bucket List

Niagara Falls is a group of three waterfalls, located on the border between Canada and the United States. More specifically, Niagara Falls is where the Canadian province of Ontario meets the State of New York. Niagara Falls is one of North America’s most popular tourist attractions, visited by millions each year.

If you are planning a visit to Niagara Falls, then there are lots of ways that you can get there. Some choose a tour, while others decide to stay in the Canadian city, Niagara Falls, which is located a stone’s throw from the waterfalls.

Tour Bus

Signing up for a tour and visiting Niagara Falls by bus is perhaps the best way of getting there. This is because you can take a bus to Niagara Falls directly from New York, which allows you to visit some of New York’s most popular attractions on the same day. Tour busses go to and from Niagara Falls on a daily basis. In addition, you will get the opportunity to learn about Niagara Falls directly from your tour guide. This means that instead of fumbling around with books and paper guides, you can enjoy the scenery and listen to an expert.

Niagara Falls

If you don’t want to visit by bus, then you could consider crossing the border and visiting Niagara Falls, a city located very close to the waterfalls. There are lots of small bed and breakfasts, hotels, and hostels for you to stay in there. In addition, the city has lots of gorgeous restaurants that are worth visiting. You can get a taxi straight to the waterfalls or alternatively you can take a bus there. Like from New York, busses run directly to the waterfalls from the city on a daily basis.

Helicopter Tour

If you have a little more to spend on your trip to Niagara Falls, then you could consider visiting the waterfalls by helicopter. These tours do cost a lot, but they allow you to see Niagara Falls from above, in all of its beauty. Another added bonus to helicopter tours is that you don’t have to fight with other tourists for viewing platforms, because you have the best viewing platform all to yourself. Helicopter tours to Niagara Falls can be taken year-round. You do need to book them long in advance because they are so popular, it’s unlikely that you will be able to arrange a tour on the same day that you book it.

Camping Out

Another way of seeing Niagara Falls is to go camping. There’s lots of parks, woodland, and fields surrounding Niagara Falls where you can pitch up a tent. There are also lots of campsites located nearby. Make sure that you do your research and find a campsite where you’re allowed to pitch a tent. You can get into trouble if you set your tent up in a location where camping is forbidden, such as in the main car park.

Motorhome

If you own a motorhome, you can park your motorhome in a campsite nearby to Niagara Falls and stay there overnight. This will give you an opportunity to view the waterfalls from the comfort of a motorhome, with heating, lighting, and good food. Camping out during the winter months can be very cold, so travelling by motorhome is definitely the best idea if you’re not visiting in summer. Renting a motorhome isn’t particularly expensive, especially if you rent it during your state’s shoulder season when travellers aren’t travelling and visitors aren’t visiting. If you’re going to cross from the U.S. into Canada, you don’t need a visa but will need your passport.

Daytrip

If you own a car, then you could visit Niagara Falls in it and take a daytrip elsewhere. There’s so much else for you to see around Niagara Falls, from New York to Niagara Falls the city. You could also visit Detroit, Philadelphia, or Providence. New York is about seven hours from Niagara Falls, so you may need to stop over in a hotel if you’re going to be going back there. The cities located around Niagara Falls are often overlooked because of the waterfalls’ close proximity to New York.

Cleveland is somewhere that’s definitely worth a visit, especially if you haven’t been there before. Cleveland’s culinary scene is incredible. There are lots of five-star restaurants, family-run bistros, and eateries for you to visit there. It is also usually overlooked by travellers, which is quite a shame. There are not many cities like Cleveland in the United States.

Niagara Falls is somewhere everybody should visit once in their lives. There’s so much to do in and around the area, too. A trip to Niagara Falls won’t set you back much either, which makes it a great budget-friendly day out.
